Young Leaner

The University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate (UCLES) offers a series of Cambridge Young Learners English Tests. These are designed for children aged between 7 and 12, and are available at three levels; Starters, Movers and Flyers. Flyers is equivalent to Level 1 or KET (see section on General English).

The Pitman ESOL and Spoken ESOL for Young Learners examinations at the Basic and Elementary levels use specially chosen topics relevant to the experience of candidates in the 9 to 13 age group.

While not specifically aimed at young learners, the Trinity College Introductory Grades (Grades 1 to 3) are suitable mainly for children from 7 years of age, whilst Grades 4 to 12 are suitable for all ages.
