Our TEFL Volunteer Teach program is perfect for students who:

* You will gain a minimum of 2 hours per day teaching experience and classroom

* If you are unsure about the nature of a career in teaching, you will be
  able to try it out over a short period of time before committing to a
  standard teaching contract of a year or more

Please note:
* This course requires an 8 week commitment: the first 4 weeks for the
  TEFL course and a subsequent 4 weeks of volunteer teaching
* As for the standard TEFL course, homestay with a local family is included
* All teaching locations are with in walking distance of your homestay and
  the Dunham Institute.

The cost for this course is $1950.  Courses run monthly but often sell out
quickly due to our policy to keep group sizes low and ensure high personal

Course Information
This course is designed to help students who are planning to go to University
or pursue permanent residency prepare for the IELTS exam. The course focuses
on preparing students in the four areas of the exam: Speaking, Listening, Writing,
and Reading. It will help you develop test-taking skills by teaching you ways to
approach and sit the test. You will sit a practice exam every week during your
studies at Viva College.

This course is suitable for students who would like a qualification to prove their
English level, but who do not need an IELTS score. The course will help you improve
your English level and develop your test-taking skills.

Course Information
English for Academic Purpose (EAP) prepares you for tertiary study by giving you
all the skills you need to succeed at a tertiary level. The course covers reading,
speaking, writing, listening, grammar plus electives. It will give you skills in
Research Techniques, Academic Level Reading, Study Skills, Essay Writing and
Presentation Skills. Students that successfully complete EAP at Viva College will
be guaranteed automatic entry into a number of programs at partner institutions
without the need for IELTS.

This course will introduce you to the skills needed to teach English to young learners.
This course will be particularly useful if done after completing the Certificate IV
TESOL course, but it can also be done separately. If you expect to be teaching English
to younger students this course will give you excellent preparation and lots of
practical ideas and activities.
